"I DIDN'T EXPECT IT SO SOON EITHER"
"When I left Fenerbahce, I didn't expect to return so soon. I wanted to be selective in the offers that would come, to accept something that would give me motivation and responsibility, but when I received an offer from Benfica, I accepted it immediately," Mourinho said.

Stating that he wanted 1 or 2 players in the transfer window, the Portuguese coach continued with the following words:
"As I get to know the team better, I think one or two key signings will be enough. I didn't ask anyone for players, no one promised me anything. I'm just doing my analysis. If the management can bring one or two players with the right profile in January, that would be great."

"Neither Rui Costa nor Mario Branco spoke to me about the election process. There was only an ethical clause in my contract: If the management wanted, changes could be made. Other than that, they only talked to me about Benfica."
