The atmosphere created by the yellow-and-red fans at the stadium made headlines in the European press, while the Norwegian media made a striking claim on the subject. Avisa Nordland reporter Freddy Toresen claimed on the podcast “Studio Glimt” that the loud whistling at RAMS Park was likely amplified by the speaker system.

Galatasaray responded to these claims. Speaking to Norway's Dagbladet newspaper, the yellow-and-red club's media and communications manager, Coşkun Gülbahar, emphasized that the claim that whistling sounds were coming from the stadium's speakers was not true.

Gülbahar said on the matter, "Of course, the sound only comes from the fans. I don't know if this is your first time at our stadium in Istanbul. But Galatasaray's home games are always like this in the Champions League and Europa League. We played against Liverpool three weeks ago. It was the same then. You know how dedicated the Turkish people are, that's how it is. Of course, the noise only comes from the fans."
