'THE TIMES I ENJOYED THE MOST WERE THE HARD TIMES'

Trabzonspor's Cameroonian goalkeeper Onana talked about the breaking moments in his career, the lessons he learned from difficult times and his view on football with sincere expressions. Speaking with images of the day, Onana touched upon the turning points in his life and his career journey, saying, "Today is my day. Onana day. I want to show you everything I have done, let's start, friends, follow me. There are so many moments, life is about the moments you decide. And many things have happened in my life over the years. As I always say; 'there is no victory without sacrifice'. If you don't fail, if you don't go through difficulties, you cannot learn. I've had so many memories, I've been playing at the top level for 10-11 years and I've had many, many memories. When we didn't qualify for the World Cup with the national team, it was a very difficult moment. But it was not the end of the world. We lost the Champions League final and life went on. We lost the European final twice and life went on. Of course I won a lot, but of course victories make you happy. But you don't learn anything from victory. So the biggest moments in my career were when things were not going well. I was trying to enjoy those moments."

'LIFE IS ALL ABOUT LEARNING'

Underlining that he is very happy with his career, Onana said, "The times I enjoyed the most were the difficult times. Because I was learning something. When you win, everything is very easy. Everyone is happy, we forget the mistakes. Life is about learning, it is about making mistakes, you should not be afraid of making mistakes. Because that's part of life. That's why I can't say one moment. There are countless moments that made me who I am today. And thank God I am very happy with the career I have," he said.

'ONE OF THE BEST PERIODS OF MY LIFE'

Speaking about his life in Trabzon, his connection with the city and his satisfaction with the friendly relationship with the fans, Onana said: "I don't know much about Trabzon. I really like the city, the weather is great. I live close to the sea. To be honest, this is one of the best periods of my life. Everything is great right now in terms of lifestyle. It's really great. What do I do? Sometimes I go to the city, even if it's hard for me to walk in the city, but most of the time I'm at home. I spend time with my friends by the sea, we enjoy life. We relax, I can't complain. I'm very lucky. I'm very grateful to be here. Thank you for everything. But the food here is great. And the people. The people are very nice. They're very warm. You know, they like to touch, they like to hug. And I wasn't used to it. I said it at first, but then you realize that it's their way of showing their love for you. And it turned into something really wonderful. Sometimes I'm driving and a car cuts in front of me. I say to him, 'Stop, I want a photo.' Inside I think, 'Yes, but we can do it in another way.' But when he sees me, he is happy and so am I. It was difficult at first but now I understand. They are my guys, I love them and I love this feeling because they are very passionate. It's something you can't describe if you're not here. But my time here is perfect for me. I'm happy to be here, it's a different lifestyle but it's great. It's really incredible, it's great. 'I SPEAK AS IF I'VE BEEN AT THE CLUB FOR 20 YEARS'

Onana, who also introduced the club facilities before the training, said about the pace of work, "Guys, it's gym time, let's work a little hard. Then we will have a drink and continue. Today's training will be hard. Let's get started. This is the physiotherapy room. I'm talking as if I've been at the club for 20 years, so I'll show you everything.
