Miami's goals were scored by Tadeo Allende, who scored a hat-trick, Mateo Silvetti and Telasco Segovia. Allende, who opened the scoring in the 14th minute on an assist from Argentine Sergio Busquets, scored the second goal from Jordi Alba's cross.
New York cut the deficit to one with Justin Haak's goal in the 37th minute, but could not find the balance in the second half. Immediately after Julian Fernandez's miss, Silvetti made it 3-1 in an attack set up by Messi. Segovia's goal widened the gap and Allende scored a hat-trick a minute before the end.
After this result, Inter Miami won the MLS Eastern Conference championship. Inter Miami will host the winner of the San Diego FC - Vancouver Whitecaps match in the final.
