Lewis Hamilton said, “It couldn't have been worse”

This performance by the seven-time champion marked the first time in his 19-year Formula 1 career that he was last on pure pace.

Hamilton lacked pace in the wet conditions where he has taken some of his greatest victories and was 2.301 seconds behind his teammate Charles Leclerc in the first session.
Hamilton hit rock bottom once again, describing his first season at Ferrari as a "nightmare" after retiring from the Sao Paulo Grand Prix two weeks ago.
"I really can't find words for this,"
"Obviously it wasn't good enough. I couldn't get the tire temperatures set, I had a lot of understeer, and I think one of my front brakes had glazed, so I really struggled to stop in the corners. Of course it's very frustrating, because on lap 3 the car felt great and I thought it was going to be a great day, but the worst happened. It couldn't have been worse."
