If Turkiye qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers, it will be placed in Pot 4

In a statement from FIFA, it was announced that two countries from the intercontinental play-off matches and four countries from the European qualifiers would be placed in Pot 4.

It was reported that hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States were placed in Pot 1, and the remaining 39 countries were placed in four pots of 12 teams each, based on the country rankings published on Wednesday, November 19.

The Turkish national team, which will face Romania in the playoff semi-finals, will play the winner of the Slovakia-Kosovo match away if they advance to the FIFA 2026 World Cup.

The 16 teams participating in the play-off stage, which will be played on a single-match knockout basis, will compete in four different play-off paths, each consisting of four teams.

Teams in pots 1 and 2 in the semi-final pairings will play their matches at home.

The semi-final matches in the play-offs will be held on March 26, 2026, and the final matches on March 31, 2026.

The 23rd World Cup, organized by the USA, Mexico, and Canada, will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
