Reigning champion Fenerbahce Beko started the season with a 96-77 win over Paris Basketball, but then lost to Zalgiris Kaunas 84-81 away and then to Red Star 86-81 at home in the next two games.

"Dubai is a very physically strong team, coached by a very good coach. They can stay with different fives on the court. When Petrusev plays at number five, they can be a very mobile team. They have very long guards and that allows them to be very big on the court and we have to respond to that. One of the most critical points for us to win will be to win the rebounding battle."
