The 24-year-old Draper, who is ranked 10th in the world rankings, said, "I've had this injury for a long time. I'm in the final stage of the healing process and it doesn't seem like a wise decision to return to the court and play five sets of tennis."
The British tennis player had been away from the court for about 4 months due to a bone bruise in his arm.
The Australian Open in Melbourne will be held on January 18-February 1.
