Real Madrid announced on their official website that they parted ways with Xabi Alonso, who was appointed at the beginning of the season.
"Xabi Alonso has always earned the love and admiration of all Madrid fans because he is a Real Madrid legend and has always represented the values of our club. Real Madrid will always be his home. The club would like to thank Xabi Alonso and the entire technical team for their work and dedication during this process and wish them success in this new phase of their lives."
In another statement, the purple-and-white team announced that Alvaro Arbeloa has been appointed as technical director.
