Alcaraz became the first player to reach the final of the tournament without a set since 2015. At 22 years and 111 days, the Spaniard became the youngest player to reach 7 grand slam finals after Rafael Nadal and Bjorn Borg.

After this title, Alcaraz managed to regain the first place in the world rankings. The Spaniard became the second player after Bjorn Borg to win 6 grand slam titles at the youngest age (22 years and 125 days).

US President Donald Trump also watched the final battle between Alcaraz and Sinner.

Jannik Sinner became the fourth tennis player to reach the final of all four Grand Slams this year, following Rod Lever, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
