The Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team defeated Spain 3-0 in their first match of the World Championship held in Thailand.

Turkey started the match well, getting a 6-point lead (8-2) early in the first set. Although Spain reduced the gap to 4 points (16-12) in the middle of the set, the national team, with points from Ebrar Karakurt, Yaprak Erkek, and Melissa Vargas, increased the lead to 8 (22-14). Continuing their good performance, the national volleyball team finished the first set ahead 25-18.

In the early minutes of the second set, both countries scored points, and the score was tied at 5-5. The national team then took a 7-point lead (16-9) in the middle of the set. Continuing their effective play, Turkey won the second set 25-20.

Spain started the third set effectively with their serves, leading by 3 points (3-6) early on. The national team closed the gap and tied the score at 8-8. With 2 points from Ebrar Karakurt's serve (10-8), the national team increased their lead significantly (17-11) in the middle of the set. Spain, starting to play effective defense at the net, reduced the gap to 2 points (18-16) with consecutive points. Although the set was tied at 23-23 at the end, the red-and-white team made no mistakes, winning the third set 25-23 and the match 3-0.
Turkey will face Bulgaria in their second match of the tournament on Monday, August 25.
