Isak, who joined Newcastle United from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022 for a club-record fee (€70 million), is determined to leave the team after Liverpool's offer. The footballer, who caused a crisis in the pre-season camp, was not included in the squad for the Aston Villa match in the first week of the league.
HE RAISED THE FLAG OF REVOLT
Alexander Isak, who posted on his social media account the previous day, accused the club of "breaking their promises".
The Swedish star, who was named in the PFA Team of the Year with 23 goals in the Premier League last season, wrote the following:
"It didn't feel right for me to be there because of what happened recently. I kept quiet for a long time, but this silence led to some people spreading their own version. In reality, the club has known about my attitude for a long time. It is misleading to act now as if these problems are new. When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot continue. This is my situation today and I believe that change is the best for me and for the club"

NEWCASTLE UNITED RESPONDED
"No club official has ever promised that Alex could leave this summer," Newcastle United said in a statement in response to Isak.
Newcastle's statement read as follows:
"We want to keep our best players, but we also understand the players' wishes and listen to their views. As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always have the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our fans at heart and we have made it clear over the summer that the conditions for a sale have not been met and we do not foresee them being met.
This proud club has deep-rooted traditions and we strive to maintain the warmth of our family. Alex is still part of our family and when he is ready to rejoin his teammates, our doors will be open to him."
WHAT HAPPENED?
After parting ways with Luiz Diaz and Darwin Nunez, Liverpool made an official offer of €120 million to Newcastle for Isak on July 15. However, the "Magpies" rejected this offer. Isak, on the other hand, publicly stated that he wanted to play for Liverpool. At the last point in the transfer, which has been a saga for a while, tension increased with mutual statements.
