Kuntz, who was serving as the sporting director at Bundesliga club Hamburg, announced that he resigned from his position due to family circumstances.
'Stefan, 63, had asked the supervisory board after the Christmas holidays to step down from his position immediately for personal and family reasons, with effect from December 31, 2025,' Hamburg said in a statement. The supervisory board has accepted his request,' the statement said.
Kuntz said in a statement : 'Sometimes there are more important things than football. This is the situation for me at the moment. I don't want to go any further and I ask that this is respected. I would like to thank HSV for a great year and a half and wish all the teams and staff of the club success.
