Commenting on Mourinho’s statement at Benfica’s initial press conference, where he said, “Going to Fenerbahçe was a mistake, but I gave everything until the last day. Coaching Benfica means returning to my level,” the former Dutch star remarked, “It’s not smart to say something like that; he shouldn’t have said it. They won’t take it well in Turkey.”

Sneijder also expressed his satisfaction with Mourinho’s appointment at Benfica. He stated, “I love that guy, and I still have a special bond with him. I wish him the very best. We had great times together. It was very short, but it feels like we worked together for years.”
