In the 35th Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal defeated Mali 1-0 and qualified for the semifinals.

Senegal and Mali faced each other in the quarterfinal match of the tournament hosted by the Confederation of African Football in Morocco.

Senegal, with Galatasaray's Ismail Jakobs and Samsunspor's Cherif Ndiaye in the squad, defeated Mali, with Fenerbahçe's Dorgeles Nene and Beşiktaş's El Bilal Toure, 1-0 to reach the semifinals.
The only goal of the match came from Iliman Ndiaye in the 27th minute, while Yves Bissouma received a red card in Mali in the 45+3rd minute.
Ismail Jakobs did not play for Senegal while Cherif Ndiaye came into the game in the 75th minute. In Mali, Nene was substituted in the 55th minute and El Bilal Toure in the 82nd minute.
Senegal will face the winner of Egypt vs Ivory Coast in the semi-finals.
