Nelson Semedo becomes Fenerbahce's 8th Portuguese

Fenerbahçe continues its efforts to strengthen its squad before the new season. To this end, the Yellow-Navy have signed Nelson Semedo, who plays as a right-back. Fenerbahçe, who reinforced their squad with goalkeeper Tarık Çetin as a local player, then added Archie Brown and Jhon Duran to their squad, and transferred Milan Skriniar, who played last season on loan.

Semedo made his professional debut for Benfica before moving to Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer of 2017. After 3 seasons with the Catalan team, the Portuguese winger signed for English team Wolverhampton at the beginning of the 2021-2022 season. Semedo's contract expired on July 30, 2025 after four seasons at the club. Fenerbahçe brought the player to Istanbul on the night of the same day. A 2-year contract was signed with the experienced player after medical checks.In his last season, Nelson Semedo made 37 appearances in all competitions and contributed 5 assists. Semedo also became Fenerbahçe's 8th Portuguese footballer.
