Speaking to DAZN, Tare responded to speculation that the 30-year-old French national goalkeeper's contract expires in the summer of 2026. It was previously reported in the press that Maignan and his team were demanding an annual salary of €8 million.
Tare denied these claims, saying: "I have never heard of Mike demanding a salary of 8 million dollars (Euros). He is a leader, a great person. He is happy in Milan and the club will be happy to keep him. We are actively negotiating."
Since joining Milan, Maignan's performances have made him a key player in the team and a fan favorite. This statement by Sporting Director Tare makes clear the Milan management's desire to keep the star goalkeeper for the long term.
