Man Utd considers £30m sale of Hojlund amidst a new interest

Manchester United is reportedly willing to sell striker Rasmus Hojlund for £30 million, despite the Danish international's public desire to remain at the club. This potential sale is linked to United's strong interest in RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and the need to comply with Premier League financial regulations, creating a complex transfer situation for the club's forward line.

Man Utd considers £30m sale of Hojlund amidst a new interest

Manchester United is reportedly prepared to sell striker Rasmus Hojlund for a fee of £30 million. The Denmark international recently scored twice against Bournemouth in Chicago and, immediately after the match, told waiting journalists that he intends to stay at Old Trafford despite the club's ongoing pursuit of RB Leipzig's Slovenian forward Benjamin Sesko.

However, the situation is far from simple. Newcastle United is also keen on Sesko but has yet to finalize a deal with RB Leipzig for the 22-year-old. While there have been reports that Sesko would prefer a move to Old Trafford, sources at United insist they could complete a deal for the striker before needing to sell any players.

Despite this claim, it is widely accepted that player sales would eventually be necessary to ensure the club remains compliant with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules. If Sesko were to arrive, Hojlund would almost certainly find himself marginalized.

A sale of Hojlund for £30 million would represent a significant financial loss for United. The forward's current 'book value' is estimated to be £43 million, as he is two years into the five-year contract he initially signed. This summer, United has already spent almost £130 million on new signings, including Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
