Liverpool will look after Diogo Jota's family
The death of Liverpool's Portuguese star Diogo Jota and his brother has caused great sadness and shock around the world and Liverpool has taken action for the player's family.

Jota described himself as “the luckiest man in the world” in an interview published yesterday after his marriage to Rute Cardoso, the mother of his three children.
LIVERPOOL WILL PAY HIS SALARY TO HIS FAMILY
According to the Portuguese press Record, Liverpool have decided to pay the remaining two years of Diogo Jota's contract to his family.
NUMBER 20 RETIRED
Liverpool also announced the retirement of Diogo Jota's number 20 jersey.
In a statement on the club's website, the club emphasized Jota's contribution to the club and said: "The number 20 will rightly be remembered for his contribution to Liverpool's championship in the 2024-25 season (the club's 20th championship). He scored the last goal of his life in the Merseyside derby in April, securing the win with a characteristic shot and goal in front of the Kop stand."
