In his statement, Guardiola said, 'I want people to remember me the way they wish. After my contract with City ends, I will stop. I’m sure of this. I don’t know if I’ll retire, but I will take a break and rest for a while.
I don’t know how I want to be remembered. All managers want to win in order to do something unforgettable, but I believe that the fans of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and City enjoyed watching my teams play. I think we shouldn’t live our lives thinking about whether we’ll be remembered or not.'
Guardiola extended his stay at the English club last November by signing a new 2-year contract, which will keep him at the club until June 2027. The 54-year-old manager will complete his 11th year at City by then.
