Galatasaray makes a move for Onyedika in the transfer market

While Galatasaray wants to add Ademola Lookman, who is in a crisis with Atalanta, to its squad in January, it has now also taken action for another Nigerian star.

Having added Victor Osimhen to its squad for a transfer fee of €75 million, the Yellow-Reds now have their eyes on several other stars who play for the Nigerian national team, influenced by the star footballer. One of them is Ademola Lookman. Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek and General Secretary Eray Yazgan have confirmed, without naming names, that efforts are underway to finalize the Lookman deal before January. While Galatasaray's management is in contact with the player, it is also preparing to make an official offer to the Italian club.

The Yellow-Red club has set a price tag of around 15 million euros for the 28-year-old player. Lookman, whose market value is 40 million euros, had come to the fore especially due to Barış Alper Yılmaz's poor form. However, the experienced striker recently experienced a crisis with his club, removed all his photos, and unfollowed Atalanta, making his departure almost official. Galatasaray plans to turn this crisis into an opportunity by signing Lookman and increasing the depth of their squad.

Another Nigerian star on Galatasaray's radar alongside Lookman is Raphael Onyedika. The 24-year-old midfielder had been on Cim Bom's agenda during the summer, but no progress was made regarding his transfer fee. Since then, the balance has shifted in Galatasaray's favor. The Yellow-Red club has allocated a high budget for the young footballer. Galatasaray, which is experiencing serious rotation problems in midfield, is counting on the Onyedika move to solve this crisis.

Onyedika, whose market value is estimated at €20 million, is attracting attention with his consistency at Club Brugge. The young player, who has played in 17 official matches for the Belgian club this season, mostly plays as a number 6, but can also play as a number 8 or even in defense. Galatasaray has also brought Osimhen into the picture for Onyedika. The transfer fee demanded by Brugge will be decisive in this transfer process.
