Former Turkish basketball player Vladimir Stimac, who once played for Turkey, was arrested after participating in protests in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.

Former Serbian national basketball player and former Serbian national basketball player Vladimir Stimac was arrested last night for protesting outside the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) building.

Serbia's Ministry of Interior (MUP) announced in a statement that 37 people were detained in front of the Serbian Parliament on charges of 'disturbing public order and causing incidents'. The ministry also stated that other people who allegedly committed the same acts are being sought.

Serbian media reported that Stimac was detained on the instructions of the High Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade for allegedly inciting violence in front of the Parliament throughout the day.
Stimac has played for Beşiktaş, Anadolu Efes, Türk Telekom, Fenerbahçe and Banvit in Turkey.
