The confrontation escalated when a fan reportedly began swearing and making obscene gestures towards Cousins. Videos captured from multiple angles show the 34-year-old former NBA star responding by grabbing his crotch and confronting the individual. Cousins then made physical contact with the fan before being pulled away by a teammate as tensions flared.

A second fan then became involved, prompting teammates to drag Cousins to another side of the court, where he was reportedly ejected from the game. However, the chaos continued. A new angle reveals a more intense second incident where fans appeared to throw various drinks at Cousins. This barrage seemingly caused the former first-round draft pick to snap, initially responding with middle fingers before the thrown liquids provoked him to swing punches at those nearby.
