Chelsea eliminated Benfica in a 4-hour match

English team Chelsea and Portuguese representative Benfica met in the last 16 round match played in North Carolina, USA.

Orkun Kökçü, one of the national footballers playing for Benfica, started the match in the first 11, while Kerem Aktürkoğlu entered the game in the 46th minute.

The first half of the match ended scoreless and Chelsea took a 1-0 lead in the 64th minute with Reece James' goal.

The match, which was interrupted in the 85th minute due to a storm warning, resumed after about 2 hours.

Benfica made the score 1-1 with Angel Di Maria's goal from a penalty in the 90+5th minute and the match went into extra time.

Gianluca Prestianni was sent off with a red card in the second minute of extra time.

The English representative, who intensified their attacks with Benfica down to 10 men, won the match 4-1 with goals scored by Christopher Nkunku in the 108th minute, Pedro Neto in the 114th minute and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the 117th minute.

Chelsea will face Brazilian representative Palmeiras in the quarterfinals.
