INTENSE BARGAINING FOR ORKUN
National team star Orkun Kökçü, who currently plays for Benfica, tops Beşiktaş’s list of midfielders with leadership qualities. The club is facing difficulty due to the player’s high transfer fee. Benfica is demanding 30 million euros for the 23-year-old, whom they signed from Feyenoord two years ago for the same amount.
LOAN WITH OPTION TO BUY
Rather than meeting this high asking price, Beşiktaş aims to secure the player on a loan with a purchase option. MAJOR MOVE FOR SCHJELDERUP
Another player on Beşiktaş’s radar is young talent Andreas Schjelderup. Despite being only 21 years old, the Norwegian winger is considered one of Benfica’s most promising prospects. Beşiktaş has made Schjelderup a priority for the left wing and is also proposing a loan with an option to buy. Benfica, believing the player needs regular playing time, has reportedly responded positively to the offer. Beşiktaş plans to provide an environment conducive to the Norwegian’s development. As a reminder, Beşiktaş signed Gedson in the summer of 2022 for 6 million euros, but Benfica retained the right to receive 50% of any future transfer fee.
