The prosecutor's office and the affected business people allege that Iniesta's prestige and international image were used, as one of those affected, Emilio Lozano, put it, "as bait to attract capital from Peruvian business people, with the deception that this money would be invested in major events that never materialized." Lozano noted that only one of the six planned events materialized, resulting in a loss. The company later declared bankruptcy, leaving debts and losing track of the money. "They took no responsibility, even though they were supposed to take it," Lozano said.
