Barcelona became the Youth League champion by defeating Trabzonspor U19 in the final!

In the UEFA Youth League final, Trabzonspor U19 faced Barcelona U19. The match was played at the Centre sportif de Colovray Stadium in Switzerland, and the referee for the match was Andre Colombo from the Italian Football Federation. His assistants were Giovanni Baccini and Giuseppe Perrotti, also from the same federation.

Trabzonspor started the match with the following lineup: Erol Can, Oğuzhan, Taha Emre, Arda, Bican, Boran, Salih, Alihan, Yiğit Kemal, Onuralp, and Abdurrahman. The Spanish side fielded the following players: Yaakobishvili, Espart, Kospo, Cuenca, Farre, Junyent, Farinas, Diarra, Pradas, Alba, and Hernandez.

In the 11th minute, Barcelona scored. Diarra received a pass from Junyent and fired a shot from the edge of the penalty area with his left foot, finding the back of the net: 1-0. Barcelona extended their lead to 2-0. Farinas took a corner from the right, and Farre made a header at the far post. The ball bounced off the goalkeeper Erol Can, and Cuenca followed up to score: 2-0. In the 32nd minute, a goal by Hernandez from Barcelona was canceled after a VAR review. In the 57th minute, Barcelona made it 3-0. Barcelona captain Alba received the ball inside the penalty area and shot with his right foot, finding the top left corner of the net: 3-0. In the 68th minute, the lead increased to 4-0. Diarra, from the right side of the penalty area, shot with his left foot, scoring his second goal of the match and his team's fourth: 4-0.

Trabzonspor found a goal in the 88th minute. Oğuzhan crossed the ball, and Bican, at the far post, made a header to score: 4-1. Bican couldn't hold back his tears after scoring. The match ended 4-1 in favor of Barcelona, making them the UEFA Youth League champions, while Trabzonspor finished the tournament as runners-up.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, followed the match from the stands. Minister Bak watched the final match between Trabzonspor U19 and Barcelona from the stands. Additionally, Turkey Football Federation President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu was also among those watching the match from the stands.

8 TRABZONSPOR PLAYERS BECAME WORLD SIXTH

Eight players from Trabzonspor U19 team won the Turkish School Sports Football Youth Championship trophy last year with Trabzon Yavuz Sultan Selim Anadolu High School.

Following this success, between May 17-27, 2024, the team participated in the ISF World High School Football Cup held in Dalian, China, under the coordination of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. After reaching the quarterfinals, they were eliminated in a penalty shootout, finishing the tournament in 6th place in the world.
