Fabian Plachel, the team doctor of Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt, was dismissed for an unprecedented reason in football history. In the incident, which took place at the hotel where the Eintracht clan was staying, it was revealed that the doctor had secretly provided medical care to Mathias Honsak, Heidenheim's twenty-eight-year-old winger, without the knowledge of Eintracht club officials. The incident reportedly came to light after the Frankfurt players reacted with great surprise when they saw the rival team's player wandering the hotel corridors.

The club management considered the doctor's behavior a clear breach of loyalty. Plachel, who has been with the club since July 2022, was immediately dismissed. It was stated that Sebastian Schneider, also from the team's medical board, was temporarily appointed as Frankfurt's team doctor.

The Bundesliga week nine meeting between the two teams in early November ended in a 1-1 draw, with Mathias Honsak, who had a history of muscle problems, leaving the game in the 63rd minute with an injury.
