Former Manchester United player Wayne Rooney had harsh words for Liverpool's new signing Alexander Isak after the Liverpool derby, which Manchester United won 2-1.

Wayne Rooney slams Alexander Isak

Wayne Rooney, commenting on the Liverpool v Manchester match in the English Premier League, criticized Liverpool's decision to field Alexander Isak in the starting 11. "I wouldn't play Isak in the starting 11, he hasn't looked ready since his transfer from Newcastle United," the English football legend said.

Rooney continued his criticism, pointing out Isak's lack of pre-season preparation. "The pre-season camp is very important. While Newcastle United were training, Isak was sitting at home with his agent trying to organize his transfer to Liverpool. Not participating in pre-season is a serious disadvantage. He could have trained on his own but he chose not to and now he is suffering the consequences," Rooney said.

Rooney also argued that Isak doesn't deserve to be ahead of Hugo Ekitike on current form. "On his current form, Isak is not in a position to be ahead of Ekitike," he said.

Alexander Isak, who moved to Liverpool from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, scored 1 goal and 1 assist in 7 appearances for his new team.
