The Portuguese footballers were involved in a fatal car accident in Zamora, Spain, in the early hours of the 3rd of July.
According to confirmed reports from the Civil Guard and local news outlets, the accident occurred near 65th kilometer of the A-52 highway.
28 years old Jota and his 26 years old brother Andre Felipe were travelling supposedly in a sports car.
Following a preliminary investigation, it is believed that they have suffered a tire blowout which led to the car veering off the road in a fatal exit, subsequently catching fire.
The medical teams and emergency services including the Traffic Civil Guard and Zamora Firefighter could only confirm the fatalities of the two occupants, whose identities were later confirmed through the vehicle's license plate.

The tragic news comes just days after Diogo Jota had celebrated one of the most significant moments of his life, having married his partner, Rute Cardoso, on June 22.
