Swiss tennis player Roger Federer has been inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

In a statement by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), it was announced that Federer, who dominated his era and spent 310 weeks at the top of the men's singles world rankings, has been selected for the International Tennis Hall of Fame in the 2026 player category.

In the statement, Federer said, "It is a great honor for me to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame and to stand alongside so many great champions of the sport. Throughout my career, I have always valued tennis history and the exemplary behavior of those who came before me. Being recognized in this way by the sport and my colleagues fills me with deep pride. I look forward to visiting Newport next August to celebrate this special moment with the tennis community."

Federer, who has set numerous records in his career, is the second-most successful tennis player of all time on the ATP Tour, with 103 tournament victories, including 20 Grand Slams and 28 Masters titles, behind American Jimmy Connors (109).
