George Aivazoglou, General Manager of NBA Europe and the Middle East, announced that the NBA Europe project will begin in October 2027 and the cities of the 12 teams that will permanently participate in the organization.

According to Italian media reports, Aivazoglou said at an event in Milan that NBA Europe will permanently feature one team from each of 12 cities, including Rome, Milan (Italy), London, Manchester (England), Paris, Lyon (France), Madrid, Barcelona (Spain), Berlin, Munich (Germany), Istanbul (Turkey) and Athens (Greece).

"WE ARE DETERMINED TO TAKE PART"

Can Natan, Galatasaray's director of basketball, had the following to say on the matter:"We have been in contact with the NBA Europe project at a high level for a long time. We will start official talks in the near future. We are determined to take part in this project. Galatasaray, as the club that brought basketball to Turkey, will add value to NBA Europe with its potential and the power of its fans."

Aivazoglou said that the NBA Europe organization is scheduled to start in October 2027.

NBA Europe is expected to consist of 16 teams, 12 of which will be permanent and 4 based on sporting success.
