Announcing his retirement with a statement to the Brazilian press, 40-year-old Fernandinho said, "I'm tired. I ran for about 30 minutes today and I felt exhausted. There is nothing left to motivate me in football. I have achieved everything I could and now it is time to spend time with my family."
