Çalhanoğlu and Inzaghi Receive Bans and Fines
Following an investigation into ties between fan groups and organized crime, Inter's Hakan Çalhanoğlu and coach Simone Inzaghi have been handed one-match bans and financial penalties by Italian authorities.

The investigation into the relationships between Inter and Milan players, coaches, executives, and certain fan groups has concluded. The inquiry was launched in November following the arrest on September 30 of several supporter group leaders suspected of having connections to mafia families.

HAKAN DEFENDED HIMSELF THIS WAY
In his statement to the police in October 2024, Hakan Çalhanoğlu confirmed that he had met with leaders of the radical supporter group, explaining that the reason was to thank them for a banner they displayed in response to the earthquake in Turkey. The national team player denied claims that he had dinner with the supporter leaders and said he had advised the club not to engage with them.
PUNISMENT ANNOUNCED
Following the investigation, Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Simone Inzaghi were each handed a one-match suspension. Both will miss the upcoming Serie A match against Verona. In addition, the Italian coach was fined 15,000 euros, while Hakan Çalhanoğlu received a fine of 30,000 euros.
