President Dursun Özbek answered the questions of the press members at Galatasaray, which declared its championship one week before the end of the 2025-2026 season of the Trendyol Super League. Underlining that they have completed a difficult season in a good way, President Özbek stated that their goal for next season is to be more successful in Europe as well as the league championship.

"We want to exceed the success we achieved in the Champions League"

President Dursun Özbek stated that they have already started the work for the next season and said, "On Saturday night, we won our 26th championship in total and our 4th in a row. We left behind a challenging and beautiful year. I send my thanks to my fans, my technical team, my players and everyone who supported us. They shed light on our success in this challenging season. Now it is time to celebrate our championship. I appeal to all my fans to enjoy it. Keep celebrating to keep the good times alive in their memories. As you know, we will start the UEFA Champions League directly from the league stage. Therefore, together with our technical team and scout team, we have taken action to complete whatever we lack. This season we want to exceed the success we achieved last season in the Champions League. As you know, Galatasaray is a team of firsts and greatests. Therefore, we are preparing for our 27th championship. Our goal is to win our 5th consecutive championship and 27th in total. I am working together with my friends and I hope we will succeed."

"Okan Buruk is always ready to serve Galatasaray"

Asked about the fate of technical director Okan Buruk, Özbek said, "What should I say about Okan Buruk? Okan is a successful coach. Okan has been champion for 4 years in a row. He is Galatasaray's child, a coach who grew up in Galatasaray. Therefore, he is always ready to serve Galatasaray. As the whole community, we love Okan very much. God willing, he will continue to serve Galatasaray."

"Icardi made a generation of Galatasaray fans"

Speaking about Mauro Icardi's future in the team, Dursun Özbek said, "The end of the season is coming anyway. Icardi's contribution to Galatasaray is very big. He did a lot for Galatasaray. He even made a generation Galatasaray fans. I thank him very much. I will have a meeting with him in the coming days. We will mutually tell each other our conditions and wishes. Icardi is an asset of ours. As Galatasaray, I hope that our negotiations with Icardi will hopefully end well."

Underlining that careful work is being done for the championship celebration, President Dursun Özbek said, "Our friends are working on the celebration program. We will do it in our stadium. We will have a nice celebration with our fans next Wednesday or Thursday.
