Vlahovic or Mario Gomez? The Serbian star wowed everyone!
Beşiktaş’s new striker, Dusan Vlahovic, scored a hat trick in his fourth match after going scoreless in his first three games in the Black-and-White jersey. The Serbian star’s start brought to mind the first few weeks of Mario Gomez’s career at Beşiktaş.

The Black Eagles’ new center forward, Dusan Vlahovic, made a spectacular debut in the Black-and-White jersey. The Serbian star, who failed to find the back of the net in his first three official matches, stepped up in his fourth game to score a hat trick. Vlahovic’s start was reminiscent of Mario Gomez, one of the most prolific scorers in Beşiktaş’s recent history.

The German center forward also failed to score in his first three Super League matches while wearing the Black-and-White jersey. Gomez broke his scoring drought in Week 4 against Başakşehir with goals in the 15th and 62nd minutes, and Beşiktaş won the match 2-0. The veteran star went on to play a leading role in the championship run with his performance for the rest of the season. Years later, the fact that Vlahovic also went scoreless in his first three matches before breaking his drought in the fourth match created a striking similarity.
'WE WANT TO SUCCEED TOGETHER'
Speaking about the bond he has formed with the fans, Vlahovic said, “Our fans give us tremendous energy and strength. They always support us. After the third goal, I climbed up to the stands—I didn’t even realize I wasn’t supposed to go up there. I received a yellow card because of that. But I’m still happy I made that move because the way the fans welcomed me, the love they showed me, and the support they gave our team is incredibly beautiful. Playing in front of our fans is always special. This year, we want to achieve great things together,” he said.
