Matt Weston is now a double Olympic champion after winning the individual gold on Friday. He becomes the first British male athlete ever to win two gold medals at a single Winter Olympics.

The duo faced a tough challenge, trailing Germany by 0.3 seconds after the first run. Tabby Stoecker kept the Brits in contention with a solid performance in her Olympic debut. But it was Weston who delivered a masterclass, setting a track record of 58.59 seconds.

Their combined time of 1:59.36 secured the gold, edging out Germany by 0.17 seconds. Team GB also celebrated another gold today in mixed team snowboard cross. Britain’s skeleton legacy continues to grow as they remain the world’s most successful nation in the sport.
