Kelsey Plum Out for the Season, Withdraws from Team USA

Kelsey Plum has officially been ruled out for the rest of the 2026 WNBA season due to a lower left leg injury.
The Phoenix Mercury guard also withdrew from Team USA ahead of the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup. Plum said she made the decision after consulting her family, doctors, coaches, and the Mercury front office.

She will now focus on recovering and returning to full health. A’ja Wilson has also withdrawn from Team USA, though her specific injury was not disclosed.
USA Basketball has replaced the two stars with Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen. Plum averaged 21.5 points and 5.4 assists across 17 games this season before her injury.
