The 27-year-old defender shared his thoughts on his current situation in Verona: "I am very happy to be in Verona. It’s a great club with an amazing coaching staff and a beautiful city."

When asked about his time at Galatasaray, Nelsson stated: "We’ll see what happens this summer, but I know my future is not at Galatasaray. I won’t be returning. Galatasaray is a closed chapter for me."

"I don’t want to talk too much about what happened at Galatasaray, but I can say that I went through a difficult time when I returned from my loan spell at Roma last summer."

"I spent great years at Galatasaray, was loved by the fans, and won championships. When I transferred to Roma, I had to extend my contract with Galatasaray until 2027, as it was part of my loan agreement. When I moved to Verona this summer, the same condition applied, and I had to extend my contract until 2028."
