Surprise development in Formula 1! Returning earlier than expected
There has been a new development regarding the return date of the Turkish Grand Prix in Formula 1. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem announced that Istanbul Park is one of the strong candidates for this season if the races in the Middle East are canceled.
The possibility of a surprise Turkey in the Formula 1 calendar has come to the agenda again. The Turkish Grand Prix, which is normally scheduled to return to the calendar in the 2027 season, is rumored to be pushed back a year due to the developments.

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem announced that Istanbul Park is a strong alternative if the future of racing in the Middle East remains uncertain. F1 Management is working on different scenarios to replace the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia races, which are at risk of cancellation.
While the possibility of a change in the calendar or extending the season by one week is being considered, it is stated that Istanbul Park could be put into action if safety issues persist.
In a statement, Ben Sulayem emphasized that logistical processes and personnel density must be carefully managed and said that human safety is paramount. The FIA President said that Turkey could be included in the calendar this season if track preparations and licensing processes are completed.
