FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem announced that Istanbul Park is a strong alternative if the future of racing in the Middle East remains uncertain. F1 Management is working on different scenarios to replace the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia races, which are at risk of cancellation.

While the possibility of a change in the calendar or extending the season by one week is being considered, it is stated that Istanbul Park could be put into action if safety issues persist.

In a statement, Ben Sulayem emphasized that logistical processes and personnel density must be carefully managed and said that human safety is paramount. The FIA President said that Turkey could be included in the calendar this season if track preparations and licensing processes are completed.
