Assessing Cristiano Ronaldo’s current situation in the latter stages of his career and his future with the national team, Ronaldo Nazario used strong language. Noting that the Portuguese star could keep up with the level of competition in Saudi Arabia but that the situation would be very different at the World Cup, Ronaldo said:

"Cristiano Ronaldo may be at a level where he can play in Saudi Arabia, but when it comes to playing in the World Cup, we know it’s much harder and the level is much higher."
