The extra time of Fenerbahçe’s match against Leuven—as the team prepares to continue its journey in the UEFA Women’s Europa League—was the scene of an interesting incident. The 90-minute portion of the match ended in a 1-1 draw, and the game went into extra time. In the 118th minute of the match, following a corner kick, referee Elena Gobjila ended the game prematurely.

Players from both teams immediately alerted the referee, and the match was briefly halted. After consulting with the fourth official, Eirini Pingiou, Gobjila restarted the match with a referee’s throw-in, and the game resumed from where it left off.
