Following Spain's 1-0 victory over Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, emotions boiled over on the pitch. Shortly after the final whistle, Argentina defender Nicolás Otamendi and Spain midfielder Rodri were involved in a tense verbal confrontation.

As Spain celebrated its World Cup triumph, cameras captured the incident. According to footage released by DAZN, Rodri approached Otamendi in an apparent attempt to console him after the defeat. However, the Argentine defender reacted angrily to the gesture.

"You spent the whole week complaining!"

"You shouldn't have talked before the match. Talk less, my friend. You and Laporte spent the whole week complaining."
