According to the statement made by the NBA, the best 5s of the 2025-2026 season were determined with the voting of 100 media members.

Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the most valuable player (MVP) of the last two years, and Nikola Jokic, a three-time MVP with the Denver Nuggets, received all of the first-team votes and were selected in the season's top 5 with 500 full points. Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs (498 points), Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers (482 points) and Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons (414 points) rounded out the season's Top 5.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who holds the record with 21 times, did not make the season's top 5 this year.
