Speaking at the post-match press conference, Fenerbahçe head coach Domenico Tedesco pointed out Kayserispor’s defensive approach, stating:
"Having more possession can mean the opponent has surrendered the ball and played deeper. This isn't a new theory; it’s a normal situation. Teams that we might describe as 'smaller' can park the bus in front of the goal and try to play on the counter-attack. This is nothing new in football."
Kayserispor head coach Erling Moe responded to Tedesco during his own press conference. The Norwegian manager reacted sharply to Tedesco’s remarks:
"Tedesco needs to learn more about Turkish football. Kayserispor is not a small team, and Kayseri is not a small city. It is a proud city. Speaking like this just by looking at the scoreboard does not suit a Fenerbahçe manager. We find this disrespectful."

Highlighting the fact that Fenerbahçe has not won a championship in years, Moe added:
"Let’s see if Fenerbahçe—if they are as big a club as they say—can end their years-long trophy drought this season! They should focus on Fenerbahçe, and we will focus on Kayserispor."
