Harsh statement from Fenerbahce at the end of the match: 'We followed with astonishment'

Fenerbahçe defeated Samsunspor 3-2 in the 25th week of the Trendyol Super League.

After the match, the yellow-lacivert team released a harsh statement on their official website for Samsunspor President Yüksel Yıldırım.

Responding to Yüksel Yıldırım's statements, Fenerbahçe's statement is as follows:

"We have followed with astonishment the statements made by the President of Samsunspor Club after the match against Samsunspor.

First of all, we would like to clearly state that the allegations that our players physically intervened against the referee are completely untrue. It is an irresponsible approach to make such baseless and untrue accusations in public.

Our President Mr. Sadettin Saran went to the relevant area after the match in order to prevent the tension in the stands from growing and escalating further and made efforts to calm the situation.

Our President's presence there did not aim to support any person or club as claimed, but was only a step taken with a sense of responsibility to end the tension.

Unfortunately, we see that the President of Samsunspor Club has made a habit of making statements that touch the nerve endings of our community before and after every match.

Instead of blaming others for the atmosphere that emerged today, he should first face the responsibility for the tension created by the language he uses.

Such provocative discourse, which harms the spirit of sports and the nature of rivalry and aims to deliberately escalate tensions, does not contribute to Turkish football and is incompatible with the responsibility of management.
