The Romanian coach made a statement to Fanatik.com.tr on the subject. Sumudica used the following statements in his statement;
"It is actually very natural for me to be associated with Turkey again. I played more than 130 games there and accumulated very valuable performances and memories. I built very strong bonds not only on the pitch but also off it. I made very good friendships and Turkey has always felt like a second home for me.
As of now, there is no official offer or concrete request for talks. However, my name being mentioned with different clubs in Turkey is nothing new. Not only Gaziantep, there have been other contacts and exchanges of ideas about different projects recently.

The most important thing for me is the right project. If there is a structure where I can recreate the success we had in Kayseri, where I can reflect the style of play and player development we showed in Gaziantep, Turkey will always be a strong option for me. Because I really believe that I can achieve great success there again and I would love to experience that excitement once again."
