Domenico Tedesco is sacked

Italian Serie A club Bologna announced that it has parted ways with former Fenerbahçe coach Domenico Tedesco. In a statement released by the club, the German-born Italian head coach—who managed only four Serie A matches—was thanked.

Palladino has been appointed

The announcement on the official website read as follows: “Bologna FC 1909 announces that Domenico Tedesco has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first team. We extend our sincere thanks to Tedesco for the work he carried out with professionalism and competence. The club wishes him and his staff success in their future careers. The head coaching position has been handed over to Raffaele Palladino, who has signed a contract valid through June 30, 2029. Palladino will lead his first training session at the technical center today at 4:00 p.m."

Earned 1 point in 4 matches

Domenico Tedesco led Bologna in four matches during the new Serie A season. Bologna lost 1-0 at home to Lazio, then suffered another 1-0 defeat on the road against Atalanta. After drawing 2-2 at home against Sassuolo, Bologna most recently lost 1-0 on the road against Napoli, and thus parted ways after accumulating just 1 point in 4 matches.

Domenico Tedesco, who was recently seen leaving the Bologna training facility, said upon his departure, “I’m very sad. What we said to each other at the club will remain between us.”
