In a statement made by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee, it was announced that experienced coach Queiroz was appointed as the head of the Ghana A National Football Team as a result of the work carried out with all stakeholders.

Queiroz, who previously worked for Real Madrid, Manchester United, Portugal National Team and Iran National Team, will lead Ghana's 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, the statement said.

Queiroz will oversee preparations ahead of the tournament, which kicks off with the 2026 FIFA World Cup on June 11, 2026.
Ghana will face Panama on June 17, 2026 in Toronto in the first group match of the tournament, and will play England and Croatia in the other group matches.
Ghana sacked Ghana National Team Technical Director Otto Addo 72 days before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
