An era has come to an end in the NBA

Russell Westbrook, who was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2017 and holds the league record for most triple-doubles with 209, has retired from basketball. Drafted fourth overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008, Westbrook also played for the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, and Sacramento Kings.

Although Westbrook never won an NBA championship, he won a gold medal with the U.S. national team at the 2012 London Olympics and was selected to the All-Star Game nine times.
